The New NASCAR Hall of Fame!
A place where NASCAR honor drivers who have shown exceptional skill in the sport. It is set to open may of 2010 based in Charlotte, North Carolina. The eligibility and selection process is one that has me very upset as for eligibility former drivers must have been active in the sport for at least 10 years. I agree with this point because in order for a driver to be inducted you must be able to see their career numbers of a period of time to determine if they are hall of fame material. The selection process is something I definitely have a problem with as there is a 20 member nominating committee I feel the fans should have a say in who gets voted in and it shouldn’t just be based on career numbers but also on what these drivers do off the track like any charity work to help the community or anything else that will help promote the sport. What do others think about this?
